Only a few days left until the deadline for applying for the John Atanasoff Award!

This year's edition of the John Atanasoff Award, an initiative of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, has been launched on June 10, 2021.

The annual competition is named after the world-famous inventor of Bulgarian origin John Atanasoff - the creator of the first electronic digital computer with regenerative memory.

The John Atanasov Award is presented to young Bulgarian scientists and researchers in the field of computer science for their outstanding achievements on a global scale.

The deadline for applying for the John Atanasoff Award in the different categories is September 5, 2021 (Sunday).

The contestants for the for the 2021 edition of the John Atanasoff Awards will compete for honors in the following categories:

1. One "John Atanasoff Award" of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
2. Two awards in the category "John Atanasov - Students and their Teachers" Awards - the first for success achieved during the year by a student-teacher team in the International Computer Science Olympiads and the second for success achieved during the year by a student-teacher team in the International Information Technology Olympiads.
3. One award in the category "John Atanasoff - Project with a Great Public Contribution"
4. One award in the category "John Atanasov - Debut Breakthrough in the Field of Computer Science"
5. One award in the category "John Atanasoff - Inspiration of Talents".
