First CMMI Level 3 certification in Bulgaria

ESI Center Eastern Europe (EE) has finished the first implementation of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 in Bulgaria. Musala Soft is the first ICT company in the country certified for its maturity and established, identified and documented policies and practices, that can be improved during future periods.

ESI Center Bulgaria “opens the door” for the Japan SPI market

In the middle of the summer on July 15, ESI Center Bulgaria was invited to present its activities in front of Japan Software Process Improvement Consortium (JASPIC). About 30 JASPIC members representing various companies, like Toshiba, Hitachi, NTT, attended the presentation “Software Process Improvement (SPI) in Eastern Europe - Specific approach toward world recognized software quality for clusters of companies.” 

Bulgarian Project with ESI International Award

Bulgarian project Authentic Bulgaria grabbed the International ESI Award for Excellence in the Promotion of the Information Society 2009 “For bridging the Digital Gap among SMEs” category. Alexander Babinov, manager of this USAID supported project, received the glass statuette on a special ceremony on Thursday night in Hotel Sheraton in Bilbao. Authentic Bulgaria is a Quality Mark system evaluating small and unique hotels. It aims to distinguish the best places for cultural, eco and village tourism. 

ESI Center Bulgaria with own contribution to a Handbook of Research on Transformational Government

What Enabled Transformational Government means? What a Government needs at a strategic level? Balanced Scorecard Approach is the very short answer. The detailed one is - strategic maps for planning and presenting the strategy and creating a system of performance measures for the goals in a number of perspectives. This, according to Ivaylo Gueorguiev, Program Manager of the ESI Center Bulgaria, can ensure a foundation for effective management system of the transformational government at a strategic level.

Week@ESI, IS Congress: 1-5 June 2009 (Bilbao, Spain)

The Week@ESI is the IT networking forum of 2009; a meeting point for all players involved in improving competitiveness in the Information and Communication Technology sector (ICT) and in promoting the Information Society (IS) in their areas. It is aimed at ESI@net partners, ESICenters, ESI Patrons, local, regional or national governments, IT companies, sectorial associations, technology parks, research centres, universities and any other agents committed to the Information Society in its various branches; citizens, SMEs and particular sector of activities.

SEI-authorized course “Introduction to CMMI” v1.2, 17-20 February 2009, Sofia

The next Introduction to CMMI Version 1.2 Staged and Continuous Representation is scheduled for 17 - 20 February 2009 in Sofia. It is delivered in English by our SEI-authorized instructors. Special feature: the standard 3-day course is extended by one extra day for drills and discussions, facilitated by the instructor.
 

Week@ESI & Clustering Congress 2008, Bilbao, Spain

Bilbao, Spain will host the Week@ESI (2 – 6 of June) - an IT networking forum and a meeting point for all players involved in IT competitiveness around the world. It will provide participants with plenty of opportunities to meet other players, to debate common issues, exchange expertise, find new business chances and perhaps see their efforts rewarded with an award. 

The Week@ESI begins (2-3 of June) with the Annual ESI@net Event - the ESI commercial network in charge of promoting and delivering ESI products and services to the world-wide market. 

SEI-authorized course “Introduction to CMMI” v1.2, 28-30 November 2007, Sofia

Next course “Introduction to CMMI” ver. 1.2 Staged and Continuous Representation is scheduled for 28-30 November in Sofia. This certificate and registration in SEI database is a must for all members of SCAMPI Class A (official appraisal for CMMI maturity level) team. The course will be delivered by bulgarian instructors, officially authorized by SEI, Carnegie Mellon University.

ESI Center Bulgaria has trained so far 150 top IT specialists presenting 55 companies from Armenia, Hungary, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria.

ESI Center Bulgaria to operate officially under the name ESI CENTER EASTERN EUROPE

Three years after the start, ESI Center Bulgaria is officially authorized to operate under the name ESI CENTER EASTERN EUROPE. During the meeting with media representatives Elena Schaiedt, director in European Software Institute (Spain), handed a certificate to ESI Center Bulgaria director George Sharkov to verify the Center had successfully completed the know-how transfer and had the capacity to offer services and operate under its new name.
