Second CMMI Course in Bulgaria, Sofia, September 27-29, 2004

19 software experts gained knowledge on SPI implementation through SEI authorized course on “Introduction to CMM®I”. The course was organised for the second time in Bulgaria by ESI Center Bulgaria. The participants represent one Romanian and 10 leading Bulgarian software companies. So far 39 Bulgarian software professionals have received certificate for the course and are included in the database of Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. The training is useful for organizations which plan to start or are currently in process of implementing CMM®I principles.

CMMI Club Started by Software Experts, Sofia, September 30, 2004

The first 38 Bulgarian and 1 Romanian software engineering experts certified in “Introduction to CMMI” formed the CMMI Club, at Rakursi Art Gallery. The CMMI club purpose is to support the contact among experts in industry standards. It is a CMMI-certified-community informal meeting-point. Club members represent executive and operational level management from Bulgarian and Romanian SW companies. CMMI Club members initiate and implement industry standards in their organizations aiming to further raise organisational excellence in the art of software.

ESI Center Bulgaria Presents First BITS Workshop, Sofia, September 30, 2004

The workshop on Balanced IT Scorecard - BITS, for the first time in Bulgaria, presented the strategic and operational management methodology developed at the European Software Institute, Spain.

BITS is an effective communication mechanism for formulating, transmitting and agreeing on the strategy of an organisation, facilitating the alignment of improvement initiatives with the overall strategic business plan and the elaboration of a comprehensive and balanced strategic measurement system.

We were presented with “the key” which helped the Basque Country transfer from the past into the future of Information Technologies Development. Ms. Elena Gutierrez, the Advisor to the Councellor on Industry, Commerce and Tourism in the Autonomous Basque Government and Coordinator of the Basque programme for Information Society Development, and Mr. Inaki Suarez, Director of Information Society Area visited Sofia and presented “EUSKADI in the Information Society” – the Programme for Information Society development in the Basque Country.
