Three Bulgarian companies have started its IT Mark certification. From 20 February to 12 April 2006 the first level assessment have been applied in BIANOR Services, Multiprocessor Systems and NEMETSCHEK Bulgaria.
IT Mark is developed by the International consortium of ESI Centers of Excellence and aims to provide software businesses with means to enhance their business, information security management and software development processes.
ESI Center Bulgaria has organized a three day course “Introduction to CMMI” in Skopje. This is the first such an event in the Macedonian capital and the fifth in the whole region. Thirteen participants from eleven different companies from Macedonia, Serbia and Bulgaria have taken part in the course, led by the SEI (Software Engineering Institute) authorized instructor from European Software Institute Spain.
11-15 July the European Software Institute Center Bulgaria has organized a training session in Skopje, Macedonia and Sofia, Bulgaria.
On 11th of July a one-day course “CMMI® for Senior Managers” has taken place in Skopje. This is the first ESI Center’s project in Macedonia and it is organized in cooperation with MASIT - the Macedonian Association of Information Technology. 30 participants from Macedonia and 5 from Bulgaria have attended the training.
The ESICenter Global Alliance has launched worldwide the IT Mark Certification for quality and maturity of the Business Processes in SMEs that develop and maintain Information Technology (IT) Systems.
The IT Mark is a reference for IT SMEs. Thus they can demonstrate their customers the state-of-the-practice processes enable them to provide best-in-class Services and Products. On the other hand, the customers can distinguish Good Suppliers from the rest.
Companies and organizations from 7 countries have met in Sofia to discuss the possibilities of Software Process Improvement in South-Eastern Europe. Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro, Macedonia, Spain, Mexico and Brazil have attended the regional workshop.
There were presented 25 high-level decision makers from: associations - Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Serbia; Donor programs- EBRD, USAID; companies “on the road” to CMMI; European Software Institute and ESI Centers (Mexico, Brazil, Bulgaria).
The fourth ESICenters Meeting was hosted by the ESI Center Bulgaria. Two new ESI Global Alliance products - GUC (Good User Certificate) and ITmark were announced
European Software Institute Center Bulgaria has started it’s 2005 activities with CMMI week in Romania. This first ESI Center’s project in Romania is organized in cooperation with ARIES - the Romanian Association for Electronics and Software Industry.
34 trainnees from 11 leading software companies have participated in the two main courses- a 3day “Introduction to CMMI” and one-day “CMMI for Senior Managers”, offered by ESI Center Bulgaria. All participants have had the opportunity to discuss issues directly with a SEI authorized instructor.
European Software Institute Center Bulgaria organizes the next “Introduction to CMM®I” course in Romania in cooperation with ARIES – the Romanian Association For Electronics and Software Industry. The three-day course will take place in Bucharest 08-10 of February 2005. Third ESICenters Meeting took place in Porto Alegre and Sao Paolo in Brasil. The main issue discussed was the establishment of ESI@Centers Global Alliance.
