European Software Institute - Center Bulgaria has participated with its own booth for the first time in CeBIT Eurasia Bilisim. The largest technological exhibition in the region took place in Istanbul.

ESI Center Bulgaria has made a presentation - “Software Process Improvement – Roadmap to Maturity” to introduce CMMI and IT Mark – universally acknowledged methodologies and software engineering standards.

“Turkey highly estimates the quality strategies - three Turkish software companies are already certified on CMMI”, said George Sharkov, ESI Center’s director.

CMMI curriculum seminar, Romania, May 2006

ESI Center Bulgaria supports development of modern curricula for software engineering in Bulgarian Universities. In the framework of this program 7 professors were trained in the official SEI-authorized “Introduction to CMMI” course in July 2005. A group of professors was organised with the objective of CMMI® curricula development and implementation in Bulgarian universities. Following the program the next goal was to promote cooperation and experience exchange between Bulgarian and regional universities in the field of modern software engineering methodologies.

A special award was given to the European Software Institute Center Bulgaria at the ceremony of IT Mark certification of Bulgarian IT firms, at the Museum of Communications. Elena Schaiedt, Director of ESI Spain, surprised, both the organizers and their guests, by awarding ESI Center Bulgaria for its achievements in Regional development and best practice in Public Private Partnership in IT sector, with its partners – State Agency for Information Technologies and Communications, UNDP-Bulgaria and BASSCOM.

Company excellence as a brand for regional ICT competitiness, May 2006

On May 11- 12 ESI Center Bulgaria participated in the 4th South Eastern Europe IT Associations Conference “ICT Driving force for SEE region development” and 3rd MASIT Open Days in Skopje, Macedonia. The conference was co- organized by BASCOM. Bulgaria was also presented by BAIT, and IT companies - Antipodes, BMG, Edimit and others.

The conference endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding for Regional ICT Competitiveness for execution of the plan for regional cooperation and branding endorsement. ESI Center Bulgaria will host the workgroup that will prepare the implementation.
