DIGILIENCE 2019 Recap

More than 90 international researchers in the field of cybersecurity and resilience joined us for the First International Scientific Conference "Digital Transformation, Cyber Security and Resilience" (DIGILIENCE 2019) from 2 to 4 October 2019!


The series of DIGILIENCE conferences aims to establish the state of the art and future demands in the provision of security and resilience of processes, services and systems that are heavily reliant on information technologies. The First International Scientific Conference "Digital Transformation, Cyber Security and Resilience" (DIGILIENCE 2019) took place in the heart of Sofia, Bulgaria, at the Central Military Club and was jointly organized by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (IICT), the Bulgarian Defense Institute "Professor Tsvetan Lazarov", and European Software Institute – Center Eastern Europe (ESI CEE).
 

The event was attended by representatives of structures of relevance to the cybersecurity and defense sectors from the European Commission, the European Defense Agency, NATO, EU project consortia, academia, and research institutes. DIGILIENCE 2019 demonstrated the importance of cybersecurity in the strive for competitive positioning in the industry, services, government, healthcare, leisure, and social interaction and showcased state of the art research in the following fields:
 

  • Cyber Security Situational Awareness
  • Detecting and Countering Malware
  • AI for Cyber and Cyber for AI
  • Intelligent Systems for Digital Forensics
  • Fuzzy Methods for Cyber Security and Resilience
  • Formal Methods and Model-based Security Testing
  • The Human Factor in Cyber Security and Resilience
  • Effective, Efficient and Cyber Resilient IT Organizations
  • Cyber Resilience of Industry 4.0
  • Enhancing Societal Resilience to Hybrid Influence
  • Education and Training for Cyber Security and Resilience

Proceedings are published in a special issue of Information & Security: An International Journal and invited papers have been published in a volume of the Springer series “Studies in Systems, Decision, and Control”.
 

DIGILENCE 2019 concluded with the announcement of the second edition of the conference, which will take place in Varna in October 2020. More information is coming soon!
